PADDLEMAP

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Olive Dating LLC (“Paddlemap,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Paddlemap mobile application and website at paddlemaps.app. Paddlemap is a social, location-aware pickleball app: it helps players find courts, see live activity, check in, plan sessions, message other players, and join groups.

Account information

When you create a Paddlemap account we may collect and store your email address, user ID, username, display name, optional profile photo, optional bio, home city and state, skill level, play preferences or styles, and account settings (including profile visibility, whether skill or check-ins are shown, friend-request and search settings, and notification preferences). You can create an account with email and a password, Sign in with Apple, or Google. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide us a unique identifier and, if you choose, your name and email. If you use Hide My Email, we receive Apple’s private relay address, not your personal inbox. If you use Google, Google may provide your email and basic profile information needed to create or link your Paddlemap account. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Location

If you allow location while using the app, Paddlemap uses your device’s precise location to show nearby pickleball courts, estimate distances, center the map, surface nearby activity, and support check-in related features. Location permission is optional. You can deny it or turn it off later in your device settings. If location is off, you can still browse the map and courts manually. Paddlemap requests location only while you are using the app (when-in-use). We do not collect location in the background.

Check-ins

You may voluntarily check in at a court. A check-in can include the court, check-in time, expected check-out or expiration, whether friends should be alerted, and whether the check-in is public or private. After checking in you may submit a wait-time report. Public check-ins can show your identity to other players (for example, that you are at a court). Private or anonymous check-ins are intended to count toward live player totals without publicly revealing your name. Aggregated counts such as “players here now” may include both public and private check-ins. Check-ins expire or can be ended so forgotten sessions do not stay live forever. A check-in is user-submitted activity, not proof that someone is still physically present.

Play plans

You may create a future play plan for a court, including arrival time, expected duration, public or private visibility, and whether to alert friends. Public plans may show your username. Private plans contribute to upcoming counts without showing your name. Plans are informational and do not guarantee that you or anyone else will appear.

Friends and social information

Paddlemap stores friend requests, accepted friendships, blocks, favorite courts, and related social actions (such as searching for players). Other users may see public profile fields you choose to show. Blocked users are hidden from your experience to the extent the product allows.

Messages and groups

Paddlemap includes court community chat, private group conversations, public groups, direct messages, group membership, invitations, and optional group name, bio, location label, and photo. Court chats are tied to a court and are visible to Paddlemap users who open that court’s chat. Public groups are discoverable by other users; content you post there may be visible to people who are not your friends. Private groups and direct messages are limited to members of that conversation, but we cannot promise absolute confidentiality. Group owners or moderators may add or remove members and, where the product allows, transfer ownership.

Tournaments and coaches

If you interact with tournament listings or coach profiles, we store the information you submit or view as needed to show those features — for example a self-declared coach bio, areas served, or a lesson request. Tournament details may come from Paddlemap or community submissions and can be incomplete.

User-generated content

You may upload or submit profile photos, group photos, court photos, court submissions, messages, group names and bios, reports, and other content. Court photos are reviewed before they appear publicly. Profile and group photos generally appear when you save them. We may review, hide, edit, or remove content for safety, legal, or policy reasons, including community-submitted courts that start in a pending-review state.

Reports and safety

If you report a user, message, court, photo, or other content, we may store the report, the reason or details you provide, your user ID as reporter, the reported account or content, related blocks, and moderation actions. We may retain these records when reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance — including after an account is deleted, in limited or anonymized form where appropriate.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we may store a push token (currently an Expo push token) so we can send device notifications you have opted into, such as friend activity, plans, or chat. The app also keeps in-app activity notifications and your notification preferences. You can decline system notification permission. We do not claim that every in-app event will produce a system push.

Analytics

Paddlemap records first-party product events in our own database (for example check-in, court viewed, or similar actions). An event may be associated with your user ID, an optional court ID, and basic event properties. We use this to operate and improve the product. We do not use third-party advertising analytics, and we do not sell this data for advertising.

Advertising and tracking

Paddlemap does not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal data for third-party behavioral advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency advertising identifier for ads.

Photos

Photos are uploaded only when you choose to add them. Profile photos help other players recognize you. Group photos identify a group. Court photos help others understand a facility and are reviewed before public display. You can remove or replace photos you control; court photos already accepted for the community may remain if they are part of the court record, subject to moderation.

How we use information

We use the information above to provide the live court map, accounts, check-ins, plans, messaging, groups, favorites, search, moderation, customer support, security, and product improvement. We use location only for the in-app features described above when you allow it.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Other players may see information you make public (profile fields, public check-ins, public plans, public group content, court chat, and community court submissions). Private check-ins and private plans are intended to affect counts without showing your name. Service providers that host or operate Paddlemap may process data on our behalf as described below. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the service, or others.

Service providers

We use companies that process data to run Paddlemap, not to buy your information from us. Depending on the feature, that can include: • Supabase and Lovable infrastructure for authentication, database, storage, and hosting • Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, and related platform services • Google for Google sign-in • Expo / EAS for building, delivering, and sending Expo push notifications • Apple Maps and Apple Maps directions for map display and external navigation • Our website and email hosting providers These providers process information under their own terms and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and protect users. When you delete your account we remove your ability to sign in, delete or anonymize your public profile, end active check-ins, cancel open plans, and delete push tokens and favorites. Some records — such as messages you already sent, reports, moderation history, or aggregated activity — may be retained or kept in anonymized form when reasonably necessary for safety, security, or legal reasons.

Account deletion

You can delete your account in the app from Profile → Settings → Privacy, or Profile → Settings, using Delete account. You do not need to email support to delete your account. Deletion permanently removes your Paddlemap login and public profile. Your email can be used to create a new account later. Information we are legally permitted or required to keep, or that is needed for abuse prevention and security, may remain as described above. This cannot be undone.

Sign in with Apple

If you choose Sign in with Apple, authentication is handled by Apple. You may share your email or use Hide My Email. We store the identifier Apple provides so we can sign you back in. Revoking Apple access in your Apple ID settings may prevent future Apple sign-in to Paddlemap; you can still delete the Paddlemap account in the app.

Children’s privacy

Paddlemap is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete that account.

Your privacy choices and U.S. rights

You can update profile and privacy settings in the app, turn off location or notifications on your device, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask for information about our practices. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights that apply to you. This section describes rights that may be available under U.S. state law; it is not a claim that every statute applies to Paddlemap in every case. To make a request, email hello@paddlemap.app from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

International users

Paddlemap is operated from the United States. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By using Paddlemap you understand that your information may be transferred to the United States.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Paddlemap after an update means you accept the revised policy. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as an in-app notice or email.
